Young people suffering from insomnia are more likely to suffer a stroke than those who sleep soundly at night. Scientists from the Medical Center in Chicago do not stop talking about this. The purpose of their study is to study the problem of increasing stroke cases among the younger generation.
The causal relationship between stroke and insomnia was especially pronounced among young people who were up to 8 times more likely to suffer from a stroke if they suffered from insomnia.
During the study, scientists tracked data from medical records to study people with insomnia, as well as those who did not have trouble sleeping. They found that over the course of four years, 583 people with insomnia and 962 volunteers without insomnia went to the hospital with a stroke. At the same time, the dependence of the appearance of a stroke on insomnia was much lower in elderly people than in young people. According to scientists, insomnia may be one of the main causes of stroke in people under 40 years old.
Due to the fact that the number of cases of insomnia among young people aged 18-34 years old is increasing, experts strongly recommend that you do not get addicted to drinking coffee, tablets and phones, video games before going to bed, as they can lead to problems with sleep.
